Winter hiking at the Rittner Horn

Winter hiking at the Rittner Horn
There’s nothing better than to doze off and dream sweet dreams under the sun on the Ritter Horn. However, sport activities are hard to resist.
From the valley station of the cable car Rittner Horn in Pemmern we float in 10 minutes to our starting point for today's hike: the Schwarzseespitze/Cima Lago Nero (refreshment stop: Gasthaus Schwarzseespitze). Arriving at an altitude of 2069 m, we make our way to our first destination, the round table. From there you have a 360-degree view of the magnificent snow-covered mountain landscape of the Dolomites. After a short break, we continue on the groomed trails, past the "Dolomitoskop" which also offers a fascinating view of the Dolomites. The panoramic path creates unforgettable moments, also for little snow lovers, who romp around in the snow along the path. From far away we can already see the Gasthof Unterhorn and the Feltuner Hütte refreshment stops.

Our next destination is the summit at 2260 m altitude. On the Premium Panorama Tour, many snowshoe hiker tramp through the white expanses. The path leads us across the white, glistening alpine pasture. Arrived at the highest point of the Rittner Horn, on a day as clear as today, we can look out over an unbelievably beautiful panorama: from the glacier giants of the Ortler and the Ötztaler Alps in the west to the legendary Dolomite world far to the east; from the Stubaier and Zillertaler Alps in the north, to the Presenella, the Adamello and the Brenta Dolomites in the south. We enjoy the silence and inhale the mountain air. We let the mountain world take its effect on us for a few moments before we set off and march past the winter bar "Schofstoll" on the winter premium trail back to the mountain station.

The descent offers a wonderful view of the Dolomites, so we stop again and again to admire the breathtaking panorama that sweeps around us. Downhill, the snow crunches softly under our shoes. Further ahead, skiers are swinging down the wide slope. Further down, along the "Oberhorn" slope, you can already see "Toni's Fun Park", an easy snow park for little winter sports enthusiasts. Shortly before we reach the top station of the cable car, we make a detour to Schwarzsee, a newly created reservoir. Tired, we board the cable car and marvel one last time at the dreamlike landscape that presents itself in its white dress.
