Culinary experiences with a fantastic panorama

Gourmet on the snow and Pistenkuchl

I love nature. Especially the mountains. And I love good food. If I can combine the two, I'm the happiest person. The perfect combination can be found at the culinary events "Gourmet on the snow" and "Pistenkuchl" at the beautiful Corno del Renon. I had to try that!
How lucky: Exactly the day before the event "Gourmet on the snow" it snowed. And so it is really nice and wintry during my walk to the hut Feltuner Hütte. As always I am welcomed friendly. The service here is really outstanding and makes the hut very popular. I am on the way with my children, who immediately find what they are looking for in the play corner. So I can enjoy all four courses in a relaxed way: starting with the Tatar with crunchy flat bread, the homemade pasta, the tagliata of beef from Renon, and the apple slices with beetroot passion fruit ice cream. Everything really delicious!

From hut to hut - from one delicacy to the next
The second event is called "Pistenkuchl" and will take place for the 5th time. 6 huts and restaurants, 6 cooks, 6 specialities - that's how you could sum it up. For me it started in Tre Vie down at the valley station of the cable car in the mountain hotel Zum Zirm. On the sun terrace I enjoy a really great antipasto:
  • Bread slices of the "Rittner Kloatze" (dried pears) with winter salad and smoked trout filet, horseradish sauce, beetroot passion fruit sorbet with caramelized sunflower seeds
A no less good appetizer variation awaits me directly at the Tre Vie valley station:
  • Tartar of arctic char, shrimp in a sesame tempura, mousse of smoked ricotta, vegetarian spring roll, apple-curry chutney.
I take the cable car and a few minutes later I am up on the Cima Lago Nero and enjoy the fantastic panorama. A temporary kitchen has also been set up here and besides the open fireplaces, the appetizer served here helps to warm me up:
  • Pea soup with mint and crayfish.
There is also a champagne bar and salmon rolls are served with each glass.
I walk along the panoramic trail and enjoy the view, the sun and the wonderful silence up here. Then I continue with the culinary delicacies. At the hut Unterhornhaus await me:
  • "Trofie" pasta with prawns and scallops
Nice and spicy and with a great view for free. The main course is cooked in front of the hut Feltuner Hütte:
  • Shoulder of veal with parsley root purée and root vegetables
With a full stomach I set off for the last stop. Therefore I walk a bit along the Premium-Panorama-Tour, up to the "Schofstoll". For any exertion one is compensated here with a wonderful dessert creation:
  • Chocolate mousse, iced "Kaiserschmarrn" and small "Krapfen" with "Rittner Kloatzen" and pumpkin filling.
I get the last stamp and walk back downhill to the valley station. If you like, you can of course also ski or snowboard to the huts. At the bottom every owner of a "Pistenkuchlpass" with at least 4 stamps will receive a surprise and in the Ziglu there will be a free wine tasting afterwards. This was a really enjoyable day and I firmly intend to cook one or the other dish, after all, one could take the printend recipes. And you? When are you going to the "Pistenkuchl"?
